As a public charter school, Kwenda uses a blind lottery to ensure every family has an equal chance at a seat. Once you apply, your daughter is entered into the lottery for her grade. Students are selected at random until all available seats are filled, and all remaining applicants are placed on a waitlist. If a waitlist space opens, we’ll reach out to you immediately.
-
The lottery for the 2026–27 school year will be held publicly on April 3, 2026, in accordance with state law. If your child is offered a seat, we will notify you by email, phone, and mail.
-
If a seat becomes available, we will contact families directly in waitlist order. Waitlists often move—especially over the spring and summer—so there’s still a strong chance of receiving an offer.

“It’s important to me that my daughter attends a school where care is wrapped around her. She should feel comfortable to take academic risks and challenge herself. A place where she’ll never hear ‘Girls aren’t good at math’. That’s Kwenda.”
