A GIRLS’ SCHOOL WHERE YOU BELONGThere are close to 1,700 public schools in New York City today.
4 of those are public all-girls elementary schools.
Only 1 of those wears its identity as a feminist college preparatory school on its sleeve.
That’s us - Kwenda Collegiate Girls.
We are looking for folks who are hungry to do things differently -to build a world where our girls get a fair shot at living lives full of promise, wonder, and ease. We’re looking for folks who want to get in on the ground floor of what we believe is the future of education in the name of gender justice.
If that’s you, we hope you join us.

Why Teach at Kwenda?
Kwenda Collegiate Girls carries forward the legacy of women who organized, taught, and imagined freer futures. As a teacher here, you become part of that collective effort. Our values shape how we show up for our students and for one another: through lovingkindness, communal excellence, shared hope, and the courage to imagine something better. We invite educators of all genders and backgrounds who want to build a school where girls learn to lead with confidence and care.
✌️ Two Teachers in Every Classroom
Co-teaching is core to our model. With two educators in each classroom, you’ll have a trusted partner to plan with, problem-solve with, and celebrate wins with every single day. Our structure creates more space for small-group instruction, strong relationships, and meaningful support for both teachers and students.
🍎 A Sustainable Approach to Excellent Teaching
We build systems that honor both your craft and your time": ample prep blocks, high-quality curriculum to build from, and routines that support collaboration and consistency. You get to focus on the work that matters most: exceptional instruction and strong relationships with students.
📈 Coaching, Growth, and Professional Learning
Kwenda invests deeply in adult learning. You’ll receive regular 1:1 coaching, weekly professional development, and opportunities to lead: whether as an instructional coach, grade-level team lead, or curriculum designer. We want every educator to feel supported, valued, and like they are continuously growing.
We believe girls deserve to learn from a team that reflects their identities and champions their voices. We work to build a staff community that prioritizes fairness, belonging, and the removal of barriers that limit opportunity. Together, we help girls see themselves as thinkers, leaders, and creators with limitless possibility.
